Winter weather is almost in full swing, so let’s get out in the community and get in the holiday spirit. Whether you want to attend some musical performances, family-friendly events, something to get you in the mood for the holidays or something else, check out our top Fargo events for December!

1. Sunday Brunch at Prairie Roots Food Co-Op

Every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Prairie Roots Brunch features their oatmeal bar, with local oatmeal from Doubting Thomas Farms, yogurt and granola bar, frittata, hash brown casserole, muffins, scones and more! They have soups and a salad bar, too, and their deli features Equal Exchange coffee and house-made chai every day. Brunch is from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the salad bar and soups are from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

2. Second Annual Christkindlmarkt

Christkindlmarkt in downtown Fargo

Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 29 – Dec. 2

Folkways invites you to celebrate the holiday season at our Christkindlmarkt. Join in for three days of festive cheer in the Outdoor Winter Wonderland, Gift Market and Beer Hall by Front Street Taproom. With food, live musical performances, art demonstrations, mulled wine, holiday treats, shopping and activities for the kids, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

3. Davies Theatre Department Presents Mamma Mia!

Told through the legendary music of ABBA, Mamma Mia! has become a worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing. Davies High School Theater Department shares the story of Sophie as she tries to find her father before her wedding day. Support these budding local stars and enjoy some of your favorite tunes from the 1970s.

Medora’s hit Christmas show tour is coming to Fargo this holiday season! A Magical Medora Christmas brings a family-friendly holiday show to Fargo South High School for featured performances by the amazing Emily Walter, the talented yodeler and Broadway star, Jared Mason and the wonderful Broadway soloist, Job Christenson, former Medora Musical bandleader and Chad Willow who accompanies on piano and banjo. Throughout the show Bill Sorensen, Wild West magician, will wow you with magic true to the season and light hearted humor the whole family will love.

5. Her Story with Elizabeth Nelson

Her Story

Thursday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m.

Her Story at 11:11 is a one-hour event for women of all ages and backgrounds to inspire, encourage and connect. Each monthly meeting features a storyteller who shares her own experience with discovering the courage to develop her potential and create a place for her servant leadership to flourish. The December Her Story event features Elizabeth Nelson, who will be discussing her time at the Westminster Dog Show in New York City. Proceeds from this event will go to the Doberman Rescue Minnesota.

6. Bootcamp on Tap

Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.

Beer and Bootcamp on Tap! Jenny with Fargo FITLIFE will be on location at Fargo Brewing Company hosting a 30-minute bodyweight bootcamp. No previous fitness experience needed. Get your sweat on and enjoy a local brew, all for only $10. And don’t forget a mat!

7. Old Dominion’s Happy Endings World Tour

Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Come to the first-ever Fall Tap Fest at West Acres! Enjoy sips from Wild Terra Cider while you shop or take in the atmosphere and listen to music by local groups and artists.Acclaimed country band Old Dominion come to Fargo on a leg of their “Happy Endings” world tour. Currently living in Nashville, these men have Southern charm and the smooth vocals to match. Providing listeners with clever lyrics and witty music videos, Old Dominion undoubtedly knows how to entertain and have a good time.

8. Santa Fly-In

Santa Fly-In at Fargo Air Museum

Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The Fargo Air Museum will host Santa as he catches a ride in the Sanford helicopter, arriving at 10 a.m. to visit with children about their lists and departing at 1 p.m. Santa’s elves will help children in and out of a couple of special airplanes for children to take a look around. Admission is free to Fargo Air Museum Members.

9. Very Merry Holiday Craft Market

Very Merry Holiday Craft Market with Unglued and Drekker

Sunday, Dec. 16 from 2-8 p.m.

Drekker Brewing Company and Unglued are once again teaming up to put on the veriest, merriest holiday craft market around – this time at Drekker’s new Brewhalla location! The entire place will be filled with handmade stuff from local makers and crafters so you can round out your Christmas shopping, support our local artists and makers, and get a beer!

10. Beatles Night at Junkyard Brewing Co.

Friday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m.

Join Dan Miller, Jake Ingamar and Tony Peterson for a special holiday Beatles show at Junkyard Brewing Company. All three musicians have performed with Broadway’s Beatlemania original cast member Mitch Weissman! Look for the hits, along with a few favorite deep cuts and maybe even a Beatles Christmas song or two. Be sure to get to Junkyard early as the last Beatles show reached standing room only!
