Ditch the cars, gather the kids and get moving on Sunday, June 24 from noon to 5 p.m. for StreetsAlive!, a free event that encourages people to get out and be active in a three-mile loop in downtown Fargo and Moorhead that will be closed to motorized vehicles.

Nearly 50 organizations and more than 8,000 people attended the two StreetsAlive! events last year. This year’s events will be on Sundays June 24 and Aug. 26 from noon to 5 p.m.

Help celebrate its eighth year with this walking, biking, blading, running, we-don’t-always-need-to-be-driving event! There are lots of fun activities to check out, including dancing, hula-hooping, Red River Zoo animals, sidewalk chalk, yoga, Zumba, live music and more.

Something new this year will be a 3.5-mile route through Woodlawn Park in Moorhead, so grab your bike or lace up your running shoes and check it out!

Make sure to take part in the StreetsAlive! Photo Challenge this year. Take a fun photo of yourself participating in any of the event’s activities, and share it on social media with #StreetsAlive. Have your friends like your photo in the Photo Contest gallery, and a winner will receive a free StreetsAlive t-shirt and water bottle. Stay tuned to the StreetsAlive! Facebook page for more details.
