Patio Season!

Warning

You may leave this magazine hungry…

There are so many great things about summer, but one that everyone can get behind— summer dining. Be it fresh produce from local growers, delicious snacks from local vendors or adventurous drinks for those hot days; summer has it all. This month we explored some of what Fargo always does well, food, but with a summer twist. Grab some friends, apply your sunscreen and make sure you have an empty belly. Summer has hit the Red River Valley! You may leave this magazine hungry…

Third Drop Coffee

Start Your Morning Right

Third Drop Coffee has two locations! Find another favorite spot for your morning coffee right in downtown Fargo. Visit the second Third Drop Coffee at 111 Broadway, Fargo, North Dakota.

Third Drop Coffee, located on 4th St S in downtown Moorhead, is the perfect start to your day. With delicious coffee and even tastier breakfast items, you can enjoy your treats in the peaceful morning sun before the hustle and bustle of your day begins!

You might recognize this location as something else. Before Third Drop Coffee, was the beloved Moxie Java! But the history of this family-owned shop is far more than just coffee shops…

1984:

Located in West Acres Mall, the Nerland family opened up Freddy’s Fudge Factory!

1992:

Staying in the mall, the store transitioned into the Candy Cottage, but they didn’t get rid of the sweets the community loved!

1994:

Moxie Java was officially born in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

1996-2015:

As popularity grew, many more locations of Moxie Java began sprouting up in the FM area, in addition to a bakery!

2019:

To celebrate three generations in the business, Third Drop Coffee, and it’s now two locations in downtown Fargo and downtown Moorhead, was established and is what we know and love today.

Granite City

Brunch Hour

One of the most acclaimed brunch spots in town, Granite City serves up exactly what your craving for those weekend brunches. With what they call, “Lawless Brunch” you can find yourself surrounded by made-to-order omelets and breakfast sandwiches, prime rib, pastries, sides, chefs specials, and, one of my personal favorites, the infinite mimosa. Visit this amazing brunch spread Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

How do “infinite mimosas work? Well it’s simple, delivered right to your table is a bottle of Brut or Brut Rosé Champaign and orange, cranberry, and pineapple juices… as they say at Granite City, “We supply the bottle and juices, you do the rest.”

While I may have a preference for mimosas, they’re not for everyone. Luckily, Granite City has a completely customizable Bloody Mary experience! Choose your vodka, chaser, heat level, and even garnish, which includes The Signature. The Brewmaster, The Carnivore, and The Farmer’s Market.

Brew Bird

Whether it’s just you, friends, family or whatever other group heading over to Junkyard, here are a few good things to know:

  • Children are allowed! They must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  • Well-behaved pups are too! Keep them on the patio, supervised and on a leash and you’re set.
  • Get your Sol Ave. order delivered right to your spot at the brewery, or bring your own snacks. Although, Junkyard does have popcorn… and it’s really, really good!
  • You can always find unique and delicious taps at Junkyard Brewing Company, but if you want to check out what’s new or if they have what you’re looking for, just head to junkyardbeer.com/menu

Camp Lone Tree

Evening Escape

Trying the food on the patio? If so, the Lone Tree Nachos are a must-try! Although I had to have a photoshoot on the rooftop, I can promise the nachos were thoroughly enjoyed.

You can book the Dain Room for your next corporate meeting or small private event!

Rosewild

Bonus Patio

Everyone knows that one of Fargo’s hotspots for the summer is right in the heart of downtown at Broadway Square. Last year, the square welcomed a new neighbor— Rosewild. Located inside the Jasper Hotel, this farm-to-table dining experience is making its way to the sidewalks! Here’s what you will need to know for the first full patio season at Rosewild!

  • The Rosewild patio will be open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m until Labor Day.
  • The full dinner service will still only be served inside the Rosewild, but the patio will feature brunch, lunch and lounge dining options.
  • The patio’s grand opening included an ice cream social, collaborating with Silver Linings Creamery to introduce a new flavor called the Rosewild! Rosewild’s Executive Chef will be curating a signature dessert using this ice cream available all summer long, exclusively at Rosewild!
  • Bring your family, friends and even pups to this patio for this summertime patio experience!
