JLG’s 8th Annual “Rock the Streets” Concert Comes Back to Downtown Fargo

FARGO, ND – August 17, 2022 – With 2022 marking the 33rd anniversary of JLG Architects, the firm’s 150+ employee-owners are ready to rock. On Friday, September 9, 2022, JLG will be hosting its eighth annual rockin’ end-of-summer street dance in downtown Fargo’s Broadway Square.  Headlining JLG’s “Rock the Streets” concert will be the Fabulous Armadillos, with 100 Proof and The  Shuttles opening the night. Food and beer trucks will open at 5:00 P.M., with bands taking the stage at 5:45 P.M. The concert is free and open to the public, with attendees encouraged to bring their own seating.

JLG has moved its annual event between downtown locations across the firm’s 10 offices in North  Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Massachusetts. This year, Broadway Square was a stand-out choice as a popular hotspot in the heart of downtown Fargo, just steps from JLG’s Fargo office.  Broadway Square’s green space is located on the corner of Jasper Hotel and is home to downtown’s winter ice rink and warming house, with a bandshell and summer gathering space primed for outdoor concerts like JLG’s Rock the Streets.

As the headlining act from Central Minnesota, the Fabulous Armadillos anticipate drawing a large and loyal crowd with songs from an array of genres – Country, Motown, Heavy Metal, and 70’s Soft  Rock. The night’s opening band, 100 Proof, brings a mix of Classic Rock and Country, featuring JLG’s Technology Support Specialist, Tyler Brunell, on guitar. Following 100 Proof will be a reunion of the late Fargo-based Classic Rock band, The Shuttles. The Shuttles’ lead singer and guitarist, Dan Miller, is the husband of JLG’s Senior Interior Designer, Jessi Larson.

The Friday night concert welcomes the community inclusively – but to JLGers, it’s the grand finale of a company-exclusive, full-day extravaganza celebrating the gathering of all 150+ employee-owners. Prior to the concert, JLGers take part in an annual awards program, company photo, lunch, dinner, and a skit presentation hosted by leadership. The daytime is dedicated to recognizing award-winning projects, conquered goals, and celebrating leadership growth, internship contributions, and those who triumphed in volunteer programs like JLGives Back and JLGfit, a program rewarding those who take part in a friendly competition to enhance their health and wellness.
