Some say the best thing about the fall season is the Halloween candy… while we might agree, why stop there? With fall, comes some of our sweet treats, including the start of holiday baking! Whether we’re talking about candy or baked goods, Fargo-Moorhead has a ton to offer for the sweet tooths out there. Check out these local businesses feeding the sugar cravings of the community.
If you want to find some additional sweets to go along with your favorite Hersey’s chocolate bars and Tootsie Rolls for your fall candy haul, visit any of these spots around town for not just good candy but local favorites!
Yeobo Sweet Shop
Located in the Unglued shop downtown, Yeobo Sweet Shop is filled floor to ceiling with sweets… really, their shop features a pick-mix candy wall full of candy for customers to explore! Created and operated by Kristina Lau, the shop offers over 60 different gummy candies, lollipops, jaw breakers and more; and in honor of the fall and Halloween season, they have spooky treats too! From sugared spiders to corn candy puffs and gummy teeth, eyeballs, brooms, witch hats, frogs and more, find all of your scary sweets at this shop. The shop also creates beautiful (and delicious) special-order cupcakes and cakes, learn more on their website!
Did you know?
Yeobo Sweet Shop, along with the entire Unglued store, will be moving into the new Brewhalla building at Drekker! They hope to be moved in this fall!
More Local Candy Stores
We all love Scoop N’Dough’s ice cream and cookie dough combo, but did you know they have a wide variety of candy and other goodies in their store? More than just ice cream toppings, but plenty of those too. Check it out!
Don’t forget about your traditional candies like lollipops and sugared gummies, but these local bakeries and pastry shops are a must-try! Because what would a good autumn season look like without the sweet taste of your favorite pumpkin loaf? Some say nothing’s like grandma’s kitchen, but you’ll have to visit these shops to make that decision yourself!
Bon Bon Edulis
Get your fix of chocolates, cookies, donuts, jellies and jams, and more at Bon Bon Edulis! The store, whose name means Good Good Eats according to owner Charlotte Viou, has been serving the community these sweets for just over a year professionally, but Charlotte said she’s been baking treats for friends and family for many years. Along with these years of training, she is also ServSafe Certified, a certification required in the restaurant industry. You can find seasonal treats for orders like “Day of the Dead Chocolate-Covered Oreos” or “Apple Cider Baked Donuts!” Make sure the kids are satisfied, both in sweet tooth cravings and entertainment, with edible, paintable cookies! Pre-order your treats before the holidays by emailing [email protected]!
Another great bakery in town, offering cookies, baked goodies and grab-and-go lunch! The bakery has a ton of fall goodies for its visitors, including treats like frosted pumpkin and iced soft molasses cookies and pumpkin cream cheese chocolate chip bread. Plus, you and your family can get creative and have some fun on the holiday with Jen’s Bakery’s DIY Halloween Kits! What’s better than decorating your own treat before you try it, plus it’s a great activity for kids’ costume parties of any age!
M& J’s Cookie Creation
M&J’s Cookie Creations is a husband and wife part-time project, bringing big-time creations to the FM area! Marissa and Jeremy Truscinski tag team on the special order cookie process, Jeremy on baking and Marissa on decorating. They have been making these cookie creations for about a year and while they both have full-time jobs, as well as three kids under the age of five at home, they say the baking process is therapeutic for them! When you have bakers with such a passion for their trade, it’s no surprise to find their creations bring as much joy to the customers as the process does.
