On October 11, 1973, North Dakota Governor Art Link delivered a message that has come to be known as When the Landscape is Quiet Again. This 2008 documentary, a production of The Dakota Institute of the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation, tells the story of the former governor’s legacy and his desire to keep the energy development during his administration in harmony with the values of stewardship, the agrarian ideal, and the integrity of rural communities.

Join David Borlaug, President of the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation, Washburn, as he introduces this showing of When the Landscape is Quiet Again, part of the 2015 1 Book 1 Community collaboration between the Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead Public Libraries.
