Event Details

Join the Tin Roof Theatre for The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail! The play tells the story of Henry David Thoreau, who refused to play taxes because of how unjust he saw the United States government’s involvement in the Mexican War. His daring act of protest caused him to be thrown in jail, and the play focuses on this famous act of disobedience and its consequences. With poignant, lively, and accessible scenes, the show offers a compelling exploration of Thoreau’s philosophy and life.
