The North Dakota Music Awards will honor musicians, bands, music teachers, venues, etc. from across the state. Awards will be handed out in almost 30 different categories including Favorite Male Vocalist, Favorite Female Vocalist, Favorite Percussionist, Favorite Guitar Player, Music Teacher of the Year, Favorite Rock Band, Favorite Country Band, Favorite Bluegrass Band, Favorite Blues Band, Favorite Metal Band, Favorite Native American Band, Favorite Hip Hop Group, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Original Band/Group, Lifetime Achievement Award, Breakout Artist, and two special Awards – The U Can Do It Award and The U Rock Award. The U Can Do It Award will go to a college senior majoring in music and comes with a scholarship contribution. The U Rock Award will go to a band that is known for donating their time and talents to charity.
Voting ends January 15th. The ballot is available at www.ndmusicawards.com. You are allowed to vote once per device. The awards show will be held Saturday, February 13th at the Historic Belle Mehus Auditorium.
Tickets for the ND Music Awards will be $25 and available online through Ticketmaster or at the Bismarck Events Center. They will go on sale soon. “We’re hoping for an almost sold out show.
