Born in Albemarle, North Carolina, in 1986, Pickler first began singing as a young child with her grandmother. In 2005, Pickler landed a spot as a contestant on “American Idol’s” fifth season when Simon Cowell was charmed by her southern twang and spitfire persona. Pickler captured the attention and hearts of “American Idol” fans, making it to the Top 6 before being eliminated. Immediately after “Idol,” Pickler landed a record deal with BNA Records.

Pickler released her debut album, “Small Town Girl,” in 2006, where her hit song “Red High Heels” ranked among the top songs on Billboard’s County chart. Her self-titled second album dropped in 2008, which yielded her first Top Ten Hit, “Best Days of Your Life,” a song co-written by Taylor Swift. In the following years, Pickler released two more albums titled “100 Proof” and “The Woman I Am.” Pickler’s popular singles include “I Wonder,” “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful,” “Tough,” and “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You.”

While exploring other areas of entertainment, Pickler won the 16th season of “Dancing with the Stars” with dancer Derek Hough in 2013. Pickler and her husband are also starring currently in a docu-comedy, titled “I Love Kellie Pickler,” on CMT.
