The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber will host an Eggs & Issues event on Tuesday, November 3, focusing on area immigration.
Immigration has surged as a key topic for national candidates and government officials as campaigns heat up. With refugees entering Western nations all over the world in record numbers, this is a topic that directly affects us here in the metro.
Jessica Thomasson, CEO of Lutheran Social Services (LSS), will share the process refugees undertake to make it to the Fargo Moorhead area, what happens when they arrive and how they ultimately make an impact on our area. LSS is leading the charge to raise awareness about, while lessening the fear toward, continuing to welcome people who are resettling into the area. The presentation will allow for time to accept questions from the audience.
This event takes place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel Fargo. All media is invited to attend. The cost for attendees is $25 in advance or $30 at the door for Chamber members, or $35 in advance or $40 at the door for non-members. Presenting sponsors are Sanford Health and Xcel Energy.
Eggs & Issues is a monthly event series as part of The Chamber’s public affairs and advocacy efforts. Each event serves as a forum for engaged community members to be in-the-know on current events to educate and to help us power our community forward. Our region faces an array of challenges and opportunities, and Eggs & Issues offers insight on a variety of topics from diverse experts.
