Swindell, born in Bronwood, Georgia, grew up listening to country artists such as George Strait and Clay Walker. After graduating from Luke Bryan’s alma mater, Georgia Southern University, Swindell landed a gig selling merchandise on the country singer’s tour. While working on the tour, Swindell wrote songs with Florida Georgia Line and Bryan, which ultimately lead to a full-time job writing songs. Swindell wrote several songs sung by Bryan, including “Roller Coaster,” “Shore Thing,” and “Love in a College Town.” Scotty McCreery’s “Water Tower Town” and Thomas Rhett’s “Give Me Some of That” were also penned by Swindell.

Swindell released his first song, “Chillin’ It,” independently in 2013. The combined efforts of SiriusXM radio station “Nashville” and social media quickly turned Swindell’s single into a hit. The song was re-released by Warner Nashville and went Number One on the Billboard Country Chart in March 2014. “Chillin’ It” went on to earn the first Gold Certification of a single in any genre in 2014, and was the highest selling debut single from a solo country male in 2013. In 2014 Swindell released his self-titled debut album, which rose to Number Three on the Billboard 200.

His second Number One, “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,” reached the top of the charts in April 2015, and in that same month, Swindell was named ACM’s New Artist of the Year. Swindell’s high-energy performance and upbeat songs have led to sold-out venues across the country.
