Event Details

Artists in the Fargo-Moorhead area are opening their studio doors to the public as the FM Visual Artists present their annual Studio Crawl. The free event is October 3 and 4,noon to 6 p.m.
More than 80 artists in 35 separate studios will demonstrate and show their work. Established artists, educators, and emerging artists will work in a variety of mediums including ceramics, paper, fabric, wood, glass, metal, acrylics, oil and watercolor. Many serve refreshments.
All studio locations are marked with bright red signs, and free Studio Crawl brochures with maps are available at Plains Art Museum, the Hjemkomst Center, the Rourke Museum and from participating artists. The brochure is also available at fmva.org.
Other activities scheduled for the weekend of the Studio Crawl include a preview show at Plains Art Museum, and Crawlers who present the Studio Crawl brochure will gain free admission to the museum and the Rourke Museum and Hjemkomst Center.
Studio Crawl director Jon Offutt said the FM Visual Artists organization partners with other arts providers to offer a weekend cluster of activities. “Plains Art Museum, the Hotel Donaldson, Nichole’s, Gallery 4, Underbrush Gallery and other organizations and businesses participate to offer more activities for the increasing number of people who are touring the Studio Crawl. And we’re finding more Crawlers are traveling here from outside the area. They plan months in advance for this amazing arts event.”
The FM Visual Artists established the Studio Crawl in 2004 to develop an awareness of the quality and diversity of visual arts in the region. The group offers several public events each year, including the Studio Crawl, the Big Art Show at the Hjemkomst Center, the Art Educators Exhibit, and a monthly lecture series titled The Visual Talks.
