As the Fargo-Moorhead continues to grow at an astonishing rate of a dozen residents a day, our identity is being shaped by the nearly 230,000 citizens. We went to you, the people who are molding and shaping our culture, to ask you about what makes our community special.
We sat down with Casey Absey, the Owner and Operator at Blackbird Woodfire who has lived in Fargo most of his life, to talk about his favorite things to do in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

A little about Casey…
My name is Casey Absey. I own and operate Blackbird Woodfire. I am all about family, friends and good food. Oh, and maybe a beer or two.
One thing to know about Casey…
Starting up Blackbird was like a rebirth for me. It’s funny how your life experiences can come together and you suddenly realize why you have been doing what you do. It makes you look at the future a lot differently. Oh, and my favorite pizza is sausage.
Favorite things to do during free time…
Downtown! I have lived just south of downtown for more than 18 years and am all about the vibe and experience of downtown.
Favorite hidden things to do in Fargo-Moorhead…
Mosey through the aisles at Tochi Products and Asian market.
I love to look through the cookbooks at the library.
Thick cut Falls Bakery Dakota bread and coffee for a morning treat from Stumbeano’s.
