To spread the word and shine a very bright light on animals finding forever homes, Fargo Monthly has decided to feature cats and dogs from the various shelters and rescues in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Each month, we are sharing the stories of animals looking for loving owners. Today, we are featuring animals from Diamond in the Ruff Pet Rescue. It’s a local and all-volunteer, non-profit animal shelter who’s dedicated to the sheltering, fostering and rehoming of homeless and unwanted animals. Check out some of these adoptable animals and consider bringing one (or all) home!

Cat adoption fees are $60 + tax. (Unless otherwise noted)
Dog adoption fees are $200 + tax. (Unless otherwise noted)

* Adoption fees include a wellness exam, all necessary vaccinations, a microchip, testing (FeLV/FIV for cats and heartworm test for dogs) and spaying/neutering of every animal that is adopted from Diamond in the Ruff.

Norman Reedus

“Norman Reedus is named after the much-loved actor on ‘The Walking Dead.’ He is as charming, loyal and handsome as the actor, so it was a fitting name.

Diamond In The Ruff

“Norman is very friendly with people. We think he would be great with children as well. He was scared for a few days, but as soon as he realized he was safe, he was all about the attention. He will hug our legs when we try to leave the room he is staying in. He likes to talk to us too. He does really cute little trills to welcome us.”

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 1year 4 months
Neutered Male
Declawed: No

Important Information: Norman is good with dogs, cats and kids. He’s using the litterbox with no marking or issues.

Meredith

“Meredith is the purr-fect combo of mature and playful. She plays with toys, uses the scratchers and climbs on cat trees. She is mature enough to not climb screens, curtains or people’s legs. She enjoys hanging out with her person and sleeping high in a cat tree for alone time. She is not an instant cuddler. She needs time to accustom herself to new surroundings and then she relaxes and starts to bond with her humans.

“Her foster states that she is a quick learner and continues to be respectful of the furniture and counters. Mer’s latest thing is she has just discovered fuzzy blankets and loves them! New photos have been added of her enjoying a white fuzzy blanket that she has claimed as her own. She is an independent cat who likes to be the only child when it comes to other animals. She wants to be the queen of her castle.”

Spayed Female

Important Information: Meredith is not good with dogs or other cats. She is good with older, considerate kids only.

Roo

“Roo is an amazing little guy. He is very tiny but makes sure everyone knows he is around. Roo is very shy and skittish. He is going to need someone who understands that it will take some time to help his confidence grow.

Diamond In The Ruff

“Roo enjoys other animals and would do best if he had a companion to play with and learn from. He likes his kennel to nap and eat in. Roo is working on harness/leash training and is getting better at potty training every day.”

Sebastian

“Sebastian is a very sweet boy who still has a lot of kitten energy. He loves to wrestle with his foster brothers so he would be great in a home with other playful cats. He has been using the litterbox with no issues. He is currently trying to learn how to play without using claws and teeth so a home with older children would be the best fit.”

Diamond In The Ruff

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 1 year 3 months
Neutered Male
Declawed: No

Important Information: Sebastian is good with cats and kids. There are no dogs in his foster home so Diamond In The Ruff is unsure of how he would be with them.
