Catch up with Cowboy Troy, WE FEST emcee

As we dig out on another cold and snow-filled spring day, we can’t help but be excited about summer and our favorite music festival, WE FEST. I had the chance to connect with Cowboy Troy, who is this year’s WE FEST emcee.

Cowboy Troy has performed at the festival three to four times and he mentioned his favorite thing about coming to Soo Pass Ranch is the energy and how excited the fans and musical acts are. He said that his first impression of WE FEST was how massive the crowd size was. If you haven’t been, it is amazing to see the vast size of the crowd and you can’t help but get energized by everyone there, it is truly something that is incredible.

Over the years country music has transformed and truly has something for everyone, no matter what your taste in music is. Cowboy Troy mentioned that the transformation that has happened in country music has expanded the audience thanks to a few artists not limited to Kelsea BalleriniMiranda LambertJon Pardi, and many more. These artists have almost served as a gateway to expose new fans.  One thing that excites me every year is building a playlist of all of the artists that will be performing to make sure I am caught up on all of the new music. I had a chance to ask him who was on his playlist. He mentioned he loves a blend of traditional country and modern, some of his favorites include Merle HaggardGeorge Straight, and some newer artists including Morgan Wallen (who will be performing this year,) Parker McCollumMidland, and Jon Pardi.

As we are longing for the day when the snow finally melts and we can kick into summer mode, I asked him what we can expect for this year’s WE FEST. There are several acts to watch out for according to Cowboy Troy, as he suspects big things will come from them in the future including Ashland CraftBen Burgess, and Ashley Cooke, and there will be additional opportunities to see these artists in the Bacardi Country Club—a newer addition to the festival that offers additional perks and live music in between the main stage acts.

Cowboy Troy had a special message for everyone who is considering coming this summer:

“Make sure you’re there. Come early, stay late, be loud, and buy your favorite merchandise. It is going to be a great weekend with old friends and new friends.”

There are still tickets available to WE FEST and the Bacardi Country Club but they’re going quickly. Prices increase on April 11th, don’t wait!
