Fargo gets a lot of attention for its fabulous economy, sustainable job growth and overall happiness of its residents. Today, our wonderful city was recognized yet again for how great it really is. The 2015 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index ranks metropolitan areas from everywhere in the country by statistics reflecting their job growth, sustainability, wage and technological growth. Fargo owns the No. 1 spot for the second year in a row on the Milken list, and for a good reason. The article stated that it is eighth in job growth, fifth in wage growth and 26th in high-tech GDP growth in the country.
Bismarck, N.D. took the number two spot moving up from fourth in 2014. Bismarck ranks 10th in job growth, fourth in wage growth and 12th in short-term job growth. To view all of the gritty details including job and wage growth values, shoot over to the Milken website. The number one large metro area is not surprisingly, San Jose, California. According to Milken, “This year’s findings reveal how technology and oil played significant roles in regional economies around the nation but, in vastly different ways.”
The Milken Institute is a “nonprofit, nonpartisan economic think tank.” Their goal is to improve everyone’s life through job creation and economic policy solutions.
