Reindeer paintings and foam core pine trees set the stage of the former MEPS building in Downtown Fargo as APT: A Creative Incubator preps itself for the inaugural APT Holiday Art Market, opening Saturday, Nov. 25.
Located at 225 4th Ave. N, Fargo, APT will transform its space into a holly jolly paradise for art enthusiasts of all ages. Juxtaposed with the blistering winds and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, the APT Holiday Art Market will offer a cozy refuge from the chaos of the holidays in Fargo with a unique blend of shops, activities and events all centered around the arts.
The market will be open on select Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the holiday season, beginning on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, and ends on Jan. 6. With a shuffling lineup of artists and vendors, including everything from rock jewelry makers to potters and painters, The Arts Partnership has curated a diverse enough range of artists to keep every patron enthused.
Market-goers will also have an opportunity to indulge in the purchasing of holiday treats and drinks, participate in original workshops, shop for holiday gift items and engage with a one-of-a-kind lights show, all culminating to create an immersive artistic experience.
The best part is admission is entirely free, allowing art lovers of all ages to enjoy the APT Holiday Art Market.
“Our hope with the Holiday Art Market is to excite the community with a full artistic experience each time they come to APT throughout the holidays with tastes, encounters, performances, opportunities to meet with artists, purchase locally made art and even make some of their own,” The Arts Partnership President and CEO Dayna Del Val said. “We’ve engaged a large number of artists of all types to showcase the incredible talent of our community and to just continue to grow the arts.”
Even though this is the first year The Arts Partnership has hosted the APT Holiday Art Market, the buzz has already grown substantially among the arts community and its supporters. The event couldn’t have been possible without the creative work of artists from the incubator, the passion put forth by the entire community of local art supporters, and the generosity from sponsors such as Office Sign Company, Livewire Entertainment, The Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation, Gate City Bank, Creative Plains, BNG Design and Park Co. Realtors.
All signs point towards the APT Holiday Art Market becoming a staple of the holiday season in Fargo.

APT was launched this past year through the collaborative efforts of The Arts Partnership and Kilbourne Group to serve as a creative incubator for artists and makers of all varieties. Out of the former Military Entrance Processing Station building at 225 4th Ave. N, Fargo, emerged what is marketed as a “demonstration space” for the thriving local arts scene in the Fargo-Moorhead community. The mission of APT is to provide a creative, collaborative and safe place for artists to make art and for the community to collide with it.
